About Pantelić

Founded in 1995 by two brothers who were then the company’s only employees, Pantelić has grown from a modest family business into one of the leading animal feed producers in Serbia. The first products quickly became recognized for their quality, which led to an early expansion of production capacities.

Growth and Development Through Investment and Innovation

In 2005, Pantelić made a significant leap forward by acquiring a modern animal feed factory, strengthening its position as a reliable producer of high-quality feed on the domestic market. Aviprom – Broiler Chicken Production

In 2011, the company expanded its operations by establishing Aviprom, a business specialized in broiler farming. Pantelić Cold Storage – Partnership with Over 1,000 Farmers

In 2014, Pantelić acquired and modernized a previously inactive cold storage facility to meet the growing demand for fruit and vegetable storage. Initially sourcing smaller quantities from local farmers, the facility’s capacities have since multiplied. Today, the cold storage collaborates with more than 1,000 producers and operates according to the highest industry standards. A complete reconstruction was completed in 2021, reaffirming the company’s commitment to quality, food safety, and support for the local community.

Hotel Sunce Sokobanja – A Blend of Tradition and Modern Hospitality

That same year, Pantelić entered the hospitality sector by purchasing and renovating Hotel Sunce in Sokobanja. This four-star hotel, with a capacity of 300 beds, has become a favorite destination for tourists, widely known as the “pearl of Sokobanja.”

Pantelić Cold Storage – State-of-the-Art Capacity for Storage and Rapid Freezing

Pantelić Cold Storage has been operating within the Pantelić group since 2014, and in 2021 it underwent a complete reconstruction and modernization. Strategically located in Ratina, in the heart of Serbia, just 5 km from Kraljevo (Raška District), 30 km from the highway, and 15 km from the airport, the facility offers quick and easy access to major transport routes, ensuring efficient logistics and delivery.

4,000-Ton Capacity and Daily Freezing of up to 50 Tons

The facility has a storage capacity of 4,000 tons and the ability to rapidly freeze up to 50 tons per day through two tunnels. These capabilities enable the provision of services to various sectors of the food industry, including the storage and processing of fruit, vegetables, and other agricultural products.

Quality Certifications and Organic Production

Pantelić Cold Storage proudly holds the IFS Food (High Level) certificate, along with a number of other recognized quality standards, including Smeta 4 Pillar, Kosher, Halal, and Global G.A.P. The processing unit is also certified for organic production, in compliance with international standards such as Naturland, the European organic standard, and NOP.

The cold storage employs a team of 50 experienced professionals, with an average of 32 years of service. Their expertise, combined with modern technology, ensures a high level of food safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Our purpose is to be your cornerstone

Serbian fruit growers have been considered exceptional producers for decades. Sometimes the crop sets a record and sometimes it fails, which does not always depend on the farmers themselves.

On the field, we are increasingly realizing that the quality of Serbian fruit is not lacking. However, the market is becoming specific, and it happens that exporters, from country to country, have completely different requirements regarding the demand for juicy fruits. Everyone agrees, that neither the best nor the cheapest product, does not means anything to us if we do not have a safe purchase.

The Pantelić brothers from Kraljevo founded their strawberry plantations, built a cold store and “tied” their subcontractors to contracts. As they say, everyone is good in this story, because we are bound by interest.

The economy, from the field to the wallet, usually leads through cold stores and cooperatives.

Pantelić is in Kraljevo. We receive strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, plums and apricots, from an area that gravitates to about 30km from the refrigerator, which contributes to the good quality of the product. We found interest and a common language with subcontractors in the simplest way. 

Our
capacities

As part of the company “Pantelić doo Kraljevo” since 2014, the cold storage facility specializes in the procurement, processing, and export of frozen fruit. Our entire product range is prepared for export. The cold storage plant covers an area of 6,000 m², with an administrative building of 500 m².

The facility has a storage capacity of 4,000 tons across five chambers.
Processing capacity: 20 tons/day.
Freezing capacity: 60 tons/day.

The cold storage employs 45 full-time workers operating in two shifts.

Subcontractors

A good agreement is the foundation of successful cooperation. Thanks to this approach, our network of partner growers has expanded year after year. While fruit growers are interested in achieving higher quality and better yields, our goal is to obtain fruit that can be easily placed on the market. We are a cold storage facility that has earned trust from both customers and suppliers precisely through quality. We purchase berries and stone fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, sour cherries, plums, and more. Our base is in central Serbia—the heart of the country. We have established cooperation with over 1,200 partner growers, a number that increases with each season.

The cold storage facility is equipped for deep freezing and storing up to 4,000 tons of fruit in state-of-the-art chambers. From here, sorted fruit is distributed to a wide range of international destinations—but to reach these markets, it was essential to build trust with over 1,200 growers, ensuring secure procurement and an agreed-upon advance price.

The number of growers we work with clearly shows that we are committed not only to maintaining but also to expanding our business and partnerships. Our interest lies in both high quality and sufficient quantity. We begin procurement with an advance price, paying growers on a weekly basis, and at the end of the season we provide an additional payment. This is a business policy we have consistently upheld—one that fully meets the needs of our partner growers.

 

Quality certificates

One of the main challenges in the food industry is effective control, elimination of bacteria and any side effects. Certificates are only a part of the whole story.

In fact, it all starts on the production demonstration plots near Pantelić. In our cold storage, mostly young people work, until recently academics, eager for new knowledge but to pass on what they have mastered.

In order to be able to better respond to the professional task, high standards, and all the necessary measures, and new technologies, we primarily performed the experiment on our plantations within the cold storage on 12 hectares. We believe that our subcontractors are also responsible, because they are also interested in creating a yield and quality that will respond to all problems in full condition.
